Instructions for Use and Care

• Before first use, wash inside and outside with hot soapy water, rinse and dry.
• Rinse the ceramic pot with boiling water before making tea.
• Fill with boiling water and add tea leaves to the strainer or use a teabag.
• The strength of the tea depends on the amount of tea and steeping time.
• Rinse the pot with warm water after use.
• Note: The tea filter and lid can get hot. Rinse both with warm water after use.

CLEANING

• The interior is enamelled and should be cleaned with a soft cloth.
• Do not use abrasive cleaners, chemicals, steel wool or scouring pads.
• The interior may darken over time — this enhances the tea’s flavour.
• Avoid sudden temperature changes or dropping the teapot to prevent enamel damage.

RUST

• It’s normal for cast iron to develop rust over time, especially around the lid and spout.
• To prevent rust, lightly oil the outside and edges with a soft cloth and a little salad oil.
• Do not oil the enamelled interior.
• After each use, rinse with warm water and dry thoroughly with a soft cloth.
• Store without the lid to avoid trapped moisture.
• Placing a paper towel between lid and pot helps absorb moisture.

HEAT SOURCES

• Suitable for all heat sources except the microwave.
• Always fill with water or liquid before placing on the stove.
• Boiling time will vary depending on the heat source.
• On a gas hob or open fire, keep flames low and under the base.
