Bring to the boil and add a layer of vegetables to the basket and cover to retain the steam. Folding down to just 14cm across, it is easily stored inside a saucepan while not in use.

1. First, open up the steamer by gently pulling the sides apart until it forms a circular shape.
2. Next, fill a pot with enough water to cover the bottom but not touch the steamer. Place the pot on the cooker and bring the water to a boil.
3. Once the water is boiling, place your vegetables in the steamer basket. Be sure not to overcrowd the basket so that the steam can circulate evenly.
4. Place the steamer basket inside the pot, making sure it rests securely on the rim.
5. Cover the pot with a tight-fitting lid and let the vegetables steam for 5-10 minutes, depending on the type of vegetable and how tender you like them.
